1. Who is responsible
The controller under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) is Gallesis · Bireggstrasse 1 · 6003 Luzern, Switzerland (sole proprietorship; owner as named in the imprint). LAIQA is offered by Gallesis. E-mail for privacy questions: hallo@laiqa.ch
This policy applies to the website laiqa.ch, to the LAIQA app and to contact with us by e-mail, phone or form.
2. What data we process
- When you ask for an invitation: your e-mail address, the role you chose, your language, the version of this policy you agreed to and the time of the request.
- Your account: e-mail address, name, role (for example owner, family member, carer or vet) and sign-in data.
- Data about your pet: profile (for example name, species, breed, date of birth), daily routines, health notes and entries made by the vet.
- Your care team: whom you invite, which role and permission these people have, and when you granted or withdrew a permission.
- Messages and notices you send or receive in the app.
- Technical details when you open the app (time, address requested, IP address) and, if switched on, error reports. We need them for operation and security.
- No ad tracking: we use no analytics or advertising tools. We set only two necessary cookies: one for your sign-in and one for your language.
3. Why and on what basis
- Handling your request for an invitation — pre-contractual step at your request and your consent
- Providing the app, your account and the sharing features — performance of the contract
- Sharing your pet's data with people you give permission to — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time
- Operation, security and abuse prevention — overriding interest in secure operation
- Legal obligations — legal basis
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell data. We only share data with:
- People in your care team, and only to the extent of the permission you granted
- webtropia, operator of our data centre, for running the servers — Germany
- Google (Firebase), for sign-in and for sending system e-mails such as invitations and password links — Ireland / EU, group in the USA
- Storage providers for encrypted backup copies — Switzerland or EU
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), for error reports, only when switched on — data stored in the EU (Germany), group in the USA
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.), for payments — not active at present; there are no payments in the pilot
- Authorities and courts, where we are legally required to — Switzerland
5. Disclosure abroad
Your data is stored in the EU (Germany); backup copies are stored encrypted in Switzerland or the EU. Germany offers adequate data protection under Annex 1 of the Data Protection Ordinance. Where data is disclosed to the USA, we rely on the recipient's certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses in the version recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
6. How long we keep data
- Requests for an invitation: as long as we need them for the invitation; on request we delete them at once
- Account and pet data: as long as your account exists; afterwards we delete or anonymise them unless a legal obligation prevents it
- Technical logs: limited in size, they only go back a short time
- Backup copies: a few weeks; after that they are overwritten automatically
7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted transmission, role-based permissions, sharing only with your consent, logging of changes and regular encrypted backups. Nobody can guarantee absolute security for transmission over the internet.
8. Your rights
Within the FADP you have the right to access, rectify, delete, receive or transfer your data and to object to processing. As long as the app has no function of its own for this, write to hallo@laiqa.ch for a copy of your data or to delete your account. We may ask for additional details to verify your identity. We usually reply within 30 days.
You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
9. No automated individual decisions
We make no decisions with legal effect based solely on automated processing.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The version published on laiqa.ch applies. We will also inform you by e-mail about significant changes.
